Grace Jones To Headline NYC Pride Island 2019

New York City's Pride Island has booked the iconic Grace Jones to perform as the Saturday headliner for the annual musical affair, as per a recent announcement.

On Wednesday (March 13), the folks behind the event made the big reveal and it came with a number of other friendly names set for the Saturday festivities. Among the other performers scheudled to hit the stage throughout the day include Brazilian drag superstar Pabllo Vittar, Teyana Taylor, Amara La Negra and DJ Johnny Dynell. "We’re thrilled to be able to create this multi-day experience, which speaks to an inclusive set of Pride-goers, during one of the biggest Pride events in the world," NYC Pride's managing director Chris Frederick said in a statement. "With the iconic Grace Jones headlining on Saturday and the incredible list of curated talent, this musical experience is definitely not to be missed."

Tickets for the Saturday concert are still available for purchase, but the closing Sunday affair is already sold out without an announced headliner. Last year, the folks behind NYC Pride Island recruited Kylie Minogue and Tove Lo to headline the Sunday slots. NYC Pride Island will take place Saturday (June 29) and Sunday (June 30) at Pier 97 in New York.
