FIRST LOOK: Queer Slasher Film "They/Them" Starring Kevin Bacon

The gays are getting their own slasher flick this Summer on Peacock, how appropriate!

Pronounced "They Slash Them", the new film "THEY/THEM" focuses on a group of teens that find themselves at a gay conversion camp called "Whistler Camp" owned by Kevin Bacon's character Owen Whistler. According to the film's press release, "As the camp's methods become increasingly more psychologically unsettling, the campers must work together to protect themselves."

Things get really crazy once a mysterious slasher starts killing victims throughout the camp.

“THEY/THEM has been germinating within me my whole life. I've loved horror movies as long as I can remember, I think because monsters represent 'the other' and as gay kid I felt a powerful sense of kinship with those characters who were different, outlawed, or forbidden,” said writer and director, John Logan. “I wanted to make a movie that celebrates queerness, with characters that I never saw when I was growing up. When people walk away from the movie, I hope they're going to remember the incredible love that these kids have for each other and how that love needs to be protected and celebrated.”

The movie will be released on Peacock August 5th and is being produced by horror film powerhouse Blumhouse. "THEY/THEM" also stars Anna Chlumsky, Carrie Preston, Theo Germaine, Austin Crute, Monique Kim, Anna Lore, Cooper Koch and Darwin del Fabro.
