YNW Melly faces six further witness tampering allegations. Melly, YNW Bortlen, and Terrence Mathis have been charged with running a criminal gang, unauthorized use of a two-way communication device, solicitation, and conspiracy to tamper, according to NBC 6 South Florida. Melly (Jamedell Demons) and Bortlen (Cortlen Henry) were charged with tampering with a witness in a capital felony for the 2018 killings of YNW Juvy and Sakchaser earlier this month (October). Mathis, a Broward County Jail inmate, allegedly helped Melly contact Bortlen, who was on bond at the time of the tampering. The state believes they helped Melly persuade Mariah Hamilton and Felicia Holmes to not testify in his first double murder trial. Between March and August 2023, Bortlen and Mathis made 60 phone calls using coded language, including Rihanna references, to mask their objectives, according to an affidavit.
